Product Review: Argan Magic Intensive Hair Oil

I keep hearing the buzz about Moroccan Hair Oil and how fabulous it is.  Everyone that I know who has tried it...loves it and raves about it so it was time for me to give it a shot.  I have naturally wavy hair that I straighten everyday and now that my hair has gotten longer, I struggle with keeping it shiny and healthy.  Argan Magic Intensive Hair Oil claims to do the following three things:

1.  Infuses hair with a silky glossy finish.

2.  Restores manageability, elasticity & condition of hair.

3.  Reduces blow drying and styling time.

Sounds like a dream come true right?  I thought to myself "is this some kind of cruel bait-you-in tactic or is this for real?"

So...I took matters into my own hands and gave it a try.  I washed and towel dried my hair as usual, combed it out and applied a dime size amount into the palm of my hand and worked it through my hair.  (The bottle says to go root to tips - but I always go tips to roots so my roots don't get too much and appear oily.)

The bottle says it can reduce drying time up to 50%.  I am border line about ready to chop my hair off because of the time I spend daily drying it so I was anxious to see if that was true.  I didn't time myself, but I definitely think it sped up the process!  Woo-hoo!  ...But the fabulousness doesn't end there!  After blow-drying and straightening my hair I had that wonderful fresh hair cut feeling.  My hair was shiny and smooth root to tip.  So, I can honestly say that the Argan Magic Intensive Hair Oil does do everything that it claims.  This is a fantastic product and I recommend it to anyone who needs to re-vamp their hair routine.  Now that I love this product I am curious about trying some other Argan Magic products...like the hair mask - perhaps!?

I picked up my bottle at a local drugstore for around $10-$11 - which is a total steal.  It's $18 on their website so if you decide to give this product a try, you might want to shop around first.

Product Review: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind

Don't you hate it when they discontinue a product that you fall in love with.  It happens to me all the time with hair products, makeup, and nail polish.  About a year ago I tried Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Compact Cream Foundation.  I have hyper-pigmentation, so my skin color is uneven and blotchy.  I fell in love with that product immediately because it blended my skin so well and it managed to camouflage my wrinkles at the same time.  It was wonderful, but when it was gone, I went to buy more and I found out it was replaced with this roll on product. (Photo Below)  I wasn't ready to tackle this contraption, so in the months following, I tried several other products.  I even tried the dried compressed powder that was in the same product line as the one I loved, but nothing even came close to the results I had with the compact cream foundation.
The other day, I was at the grocery store and my cart and I ended up in the make-up aisle.   (Some people go to Saks for make-up, I go "Kroger-ing".)  This product was on sale, and since I haven't been successful finding a back-up to my favorite discontinued product, I decided to buy it and try it - since they say it's the replacement to my favorite product.  The reviews on this product online are very mixed, but I think I've found a winner.  The words Instant Age Rewind sounds like a good way to bait you in, but I actually thought that it did a great job concealing my wrinkles.  They didn't go away but they were definitely less apparent.  It goes on very easy and blends my skin tones really well.  It also has an SPF 18 sunscreen!

TIP:  If you decide to try it - take this advice that I once heard.  When you're shopping for a  product for your face - narrow the colors down to two close options to your skin color and then go with the darker of the two.  This method works every time!

Time to Crush It!

A client of mine introduced me to this book.  ...and I'm so glad she did.  I just finished it.  ...and now the creative juices are flowing.  I'm ready to practice everything that I've learned.  I'm  pumped with excitement and running on adrenaline.  It's a fabulous read and I recommend it to anyone interested in cashing in on their passions!  Very motivational!  CRUSH IT!

Product Review: Magic Bag

Today is my seasonal closet-switch-a-roo day.  It happens twice a year - I wish I had less clothes or a bigger closet so I could avoid this dreadful day.  I have so many big, huge fluffy sweaters so switching from winter to summer is a little more challenging than the summer switch.  The other day I stopped by one of those cheap stores that sells everything under the sun.  The "Dollar" type.  I've admitted I'm thrifty before - no shame.  I came across those vacuum sealed bags that you stuff clothes in and then you suck all the air out of the bag to save space.  I decided to pick it up and conduct my own experiment to see how well they work.

The First Stack of Sweaters
I stuffed all of these in the bag and still had room, so I went back for more.  I wish I would've counted how many I stuffed in.  After this pile I added four more sweaters (not pictured).

Bag After The Suction.  Airtight.
....And here are my final thoughts.  I imagined this baby to slide easily under my bed when it was all said and done.  Well, that just wasn't the case.  It definitely shrunk.  But, I don't think I gained an overwhelming amount of space.  I've seen so many infomercials on these over the years, so it was time to try it for myself.  One thing is for sure.  Next Fall/Winter - I'm going to  do some serious ironing.  I'm pretty sure they will be a wrinkled mess. ;)  I only bought one bag.  The rest of my fall/winter clothes are stored away in plastic tubs.  The good thing about doing my seasonal closet-switch-a-roos - is that I'm able to weed out stuff I don't wear anymore.  Now it's off to Goodwill.
