I'm Back

It has been quite awhile since I last blogged. ...But I'm back and hopefully better than ever. Although - I have never been good at journaling because I feel like I'm talking to myself, but I'll try to get over that.

I decided to get back to CTACW (Coffee Talks & Cat Walks) because I recently created a bucket list and one of the items on my bucket list was to pick up sewing - so if there is nothing to talk about in the world of fashion & such...(CTACW) then I will share my stories/headaches here on my blog of me with the sewing machine. In college I studied fashion merchandising, so I had several courses on sewing and clothing construction, but since graduating in 2001, I have retained very little. Furthermore, while I was in college - I didn't see myself sitting behind a sewing machine. Back then, my dream job was to work for a fashion magazine or doing visual merchandising, so I basically put in the time for the sewing classes but didn't invest that time to REALLY learn the craft.

For some reason about a year ago I became obsessed about wanting to sew again. I thought about spending my Christmas money last year to buy a sewing machine. ...Actually I did buy a sewing machine but it sat on my living room floor for a week and I couldn't get myself to open the box and take the time to sit down and play with it so I returned it. Then about 7 or 8 months later I went back to the store and bought one. So there you have it. I now have a sewing machine and because I don't have a good place to "set up shop", my sewing machine is now a piece of furniture in my living room. Really attractive decor.

Since purchasing my sewing machine I have attended a sewing class to help re-teach me the basics. I have also spent hours online reading how-tos and tutorials. ...So stay tuned and I'll keep you posted on my new journey with the sewing machine. I'm sure it will be a roller-coaster ride so hang on!
