99 Bottles...

{ C o n f e s s i o n }:
I love wine.  Red wine to be exact.
My hubby & I drink our wine,  toss our corks in a cute little jar & recycle the bottles when we're done.  We repeat this cycle with each and every newly popped cork.  We recently drove the Pacific Coast Highway and made a two day stop over to the wine country.  While we were there we became members at my favorite winery, Francis Ford Coppola.  (I'm hooked on their Merlot.)  What does this mean?  This means we'll have even more corks and bottles coming and going in our household, which got me to thinking, yes - we "collect" the corks, but what can we do with the bottles?  If I start saving the bottles I will eventually look like a hoarder and we don't want that - but I can save a few here and there - ESPECIALLY - if I can find a purpose for them!  I started sifting through pinterest and here are some of the genius ideas that others have come up with.  The wheels are turning.  I'm getting inspired!

Heading North

We headed on up and out of California today.  Ending our day in Eugene, OR.  My first visit to this state. Another beautiful day with more gorgeous scenery.  We even bumped into Paul Bunyon! Crazy! Saw some enormous redwoods, silly roadside art sculptures, and smelled the aroma of "skunk" - but the locals tell me it's something else. Something herbal-but of course.

We ate dinner at a local pizzeria and we're ending the evening with a bottle of The Director's Cut Zinfandel...our souvenir from the Francis Ford Coppola winery. A fabulous end to another wonderful day out West with my lover boy/husband! Tomorrow is the official day of our FIVE year anniversary! It's been a blast! I feel so blessed. Time flies when you're having fun!

On The Road Again

Jeff and I headed out of Napa today. We stopped by The Fremont Diner in Sonoma and picked up some biscuits to-go...and they were incredible. Next time I'm back in these neck of the woods I will be going back there for a sit down meal! Afterwards, we drove to Geyserville to do some tastings at Francis Ford Coppola. That was truly a wonderful experience. Such a beautiful winery - with amazing wine!! The drive felt long today, but the scenery is breath taking and the air feels so fresh. We ended our day in Eureka, CA. - kind of an odd town....but you have to sleep somewhere!  Tonight we had some nice, "Hawaiian" comfort food. My belly is full. Going to bed now. Need to rest up for another adventurous day on the road.
